Last Saturday, we took advantage of a fantastic Christmas present given to us by the Pierces: a one-year dual membership to the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Having a membership (or, put another way, not needing to pay admission every time you visit) really changes your relationship with an institution like a museum. Instead of needing to make it an all-day, get-your-money's worth event of seeing the Museum, we have the luxury of traipsing in at our convenience: Museum closes in an hour? We can go on in anyway and know that we can see whatever we miss at a later time.
And that's exactly what we did, stumbling in only hours before closing time. I didn't have a tripod with me, so for this scene, I steadied the body as well as I could on the flat and wide stone balcony railing and held down the shutter button, firing off several captures in a row in the hopes of snagging one without too much shake. I'll have to go back sometime with a tripod, but in the meantime I'm pretty happy with this one.
Gorgeous, Henry!
