I can say this for being married -
Your spouse can be an amazing therapist. Between evenings and weekends, I've enjoyed the time that Sharon and I have had just to talk with and listen to each other, let alone spend normal or lazy time together. We've talked through so many issues- and there's more yet to unpack.
It has been rewarding and truly eye-opening to have the veil lifted on years-old previously-unexplored habits and tendencies, previously-unexplained fears, and previously-unplumbed hardwired mindsets. Like I said, there's a lot to unpack. So, I'm trying to journal more - on paper; I communicate more freely through written language (that should be apparent), so the thinking goes that developing such a discipline of working through my thoughts from out my pen will be fruitful.
There are big life decisions everywhere we turn. Too often I decide and move on, and I never really stopped to know even what I thought at the moment. I hope these new outlooks and approach can provide clarity or at the very least a point of reference as time keeps marching onward. So that I can at least know what I think.
