the little things

I generally don't give much credence to things that I feel are hypersymbolized or overly ceremonial. I could extrapolate on this with some examples [but trust me... I've spent the last fifteen minutes trying out examples and ultimately deciding not to "go there."], but I won't. Having said that...

I like the clanging sound my wedding band makes whenever I grab hold of a metal handrail on the stairs, elevator, or wherever else. It brings just the slightest smile to my face and a subtle reminder to my mind of the beautiful woman to whom I've pledged my life.
