I'm trying to decide how to restart this blog. I would like to make this space one in which I can write freely (and, I hope, write well) about any number of topics. As I may have said before, I'd like for this weblog to be more than a space for complaining, incoherence, or angry reactionary rants... and yet I found myself sliding right back into those familiar patterns of webloggery. I had to shut it down for a while before it got [even more] out of hand.
Sharon said it best a while back when we were discussing the idea of bringing back the blog (yes, we even had such a discussion) that it would be great to write and share about my ideas on the world in more of an expository (rather than reactionary) manner, and I agree. I just need to be able to properly formulate these ideas into coherent, well-spoken thoughts; frankly, this process requires more of my time and effort than I can honestly give most times.
I would prefer not to overly turn this into strictly a "this is what we're doing" (though by all means, if all two of you readers would like that, let me know in the comments or by some other method) kind of blog. I tend to think that Facebook and Twitter seem to cover that realm pretty well. So the problem becomes, after I get done filtering out the rants and the silly things, the mundane and the redundant things... what is there left to say?
The answer: plenty more than I think. I'll get to it. Or, if I don't, I'll say so and bring this blog to a close.
Henry,
ReplyDeleteLong time, no see, but I read found your blog through Sharon's and love it. Whatever you want to write about, I will read. :)
Just thought you should add another blog reader to your count of (what I am sure is more than) three.
Melanie
Thanks for the kind words, Melanie. Good to hear from you again. Hope you're doing well?
